MD Medical participates in the Ministry of Health’s free mammography program “Fofi Gennimata,” which is part of the Breast Cancer Prevention Action – Digital Mammography Program “SPYROS DOXIADIS,” specifically in preventive diagnostic mammography examinations against breast cancer.
The program is aimed at all women aged 50-69 who reside in Greece and have an AMKA (Social Security Number). The only exceptions are those who have had digital mammography in the past year and those who have had breast cancer in the last five years.
The platform through which information about the program and the examination centers is provided is mastografia.gov.gr.
Women who have activated paperless prescription have received a referral either by SMS on their mobile phone or by email, while those who have not joined the paperless prescription can ask their doctor or a health unit to issue the relevant referral.
MD Medical has a new Siemens Mammomat Fusion Digital Mammograph, which is the most complete model in its category in Greece and Europe, used for diagnostic examinations such as digital mammography, spot and magnification mammography. It also has trained and experienced medical staff.
