PREPARATION FOR CORONARY CT ANGIOGRAPHY
Coronary CT Angiography is an important procedure, and proper patient preparation is vital!
- 1. Arrive 30 minutes before your appointment to avoid stress and rushing.
- For the regulation of your heartbeats, consult your cardiologist.
- If you have Bronchial Asthma | Allergies | Renal Failure, please inform the secretariat.
- Fast on the day of examination. If the examination is in the afternoon, a light breakfast is permitted until 09:00. No coffee or black tea!
- Diabetes tablets (e.g. Glucophage) must be stopped the day before and on the day of examination.
- Bring your previous examinations, such as previous coronary CT angiography and all your cardiac examinations.
- Take with you the contrast agent that we will prescribe for you.
- If you have a fever or severe cough, cancel your appointment.

PREPARATION FOR UPPER ABDOMINAL CT
The patient should fast for five (5) hours before the examination.
Two (2) hours before the examination, put two (2) caps of Gastrografin medicine in two (2) glasses of water and drink them.
Half an hour (30′) before the examination, put two (2) caps of Gastrografin medicine in two (2) glasses of water and drink them.
Bring the contrast medium with you.
PREPARATION FOR UPPER-LOWER ABDOMINAL – RETROPERITONEAL CT
The patient should fast for five (5) hours before the examination.
The patient should drink one (1) glass of water with one (1) cap of Gastrografin in the following dosage:
• The previous evening at 10:00pm -> 2 glasses of water (one cap of medicine each)
• Two (2) hours before the examination -> 2 glasses of water (one cap of medicine each)
• Half an hour (30′) before the examination -> 2 glasses of water (one cap of medicine each)
One (1) hour before the examination, you should drink plenty of water (about 4-5 glasses), without urinating.
Bring the contrast medium with you.
