MYOCARDIAL SCINTIGRAPHY AT REST AND UNDER STRESS
The examination duration is approximately 3-5 hours
The patient should be well hydrated
The patient must fast for 4 hours before the examination; earlier they may have a light meal (e.g. milk with rusk)
One (1) day before the examination, they should NOT drink coffee, tea, coca-cola, chocolate and anything containing caffeine
If they take diabetes tablets, they should not take them on the day of examination
If you use insulin, do not take it on the day of examination
If you suffer from a pulmonary condition for which you are receiving treatment, you must inform us
If they take theophylline medicines, they must be stopped 2 days before
If you take heart medication, consult with your treating physician about whether to stop them or not
PLEASE BRING WITH YOU ANY PREVIOUS CARDIAC EXAMINATIONS (Scintigraphy, coronary angiography or angioplasty)
