Haematology
Haematological tests are best performed in the morning hours.
Biochemistry
For biochemical tests, fasting for 10-12 hours is required and alcohol should be avoided.
A light meal is recommended the previous evening. Water is allowed before blood collection.
Hormonal
Hormonal examinations are conducted in consultation either with your treating physician or with our laboratory.
Microbiology
General urinalysis – urine culture
Urine collection is done in a sterile urine container and the first morning urination from mid-stream is recommended. Before collection in the sterile container, cleaning of the external genitalia with soap and water is required.
Urine culture should be done before starting antibiotic therapy; otherwise, please inform our laboratory staff.
Andrology
Sperm Analysis
There should be sexual abstinence for 3-5 days before collection (in consultation with your treating physician). After sample collection, immediate transfer within 20-30 minutes to the laboratory. The sample is collected in a sterile urine container.
Sperm Cultures
No preparation required. The sample is collected in a sterile urine container.
